# steamdata.dev > Hourly concurrent player counts for Steam games: the latest count, 24h change, all-time peak (since tracking began) and history, recorded from the Steam Web API. Not affiliated with Valve. The ranking, game and search pages have their figures in the HTML, so they read fine without JavaScript. For anything else, or for raw numbers, read the JSON API at https://api.steamdata.dev. It needs no key, allows any origin, and every response is cached for 15 minutes. Games are identified by their Steam app id, the number in a Steam store URL (store.steampowered.com/app/1623730/ is Palworld, 1623730). ## Pages (HTML, no JavaScript needed) - [https://steamdata.dev/](https://steamdata.dev/): the most played games right now, 50 per page in rank order, each with its count, 24h change and share of its peak. Page 0 is led by cards of the top few games in four tags: the biggest 24h risers and fallers, the top climbers in the ranking, and the games nearest their all-time peak. Later pages are /?page=1, /?page=2 and so on. - [https://steamdata.dev/apps/1623730](https://steamdata.dev/apps/1623730): one game's page, with its latest count, 24h change, peak, rank and recent updates in the HTML. Replace 1623730 with any tracked app id. - [https://steamdata.dev/about](https://steamdata.dev/about): how the counts are taken and what the 24h change, peak, tags, charts, update impacts and studio pages mean. - [https://steamdata.dev/tags](https://steamdata.dev/tags): every tag page. Each, like [/tags/trend/rising](https://steamdata.dev/tags/trend/rising) or [/tags/busy_hours/europe](https://steamdata.dev/tags/busy_hours/europe), lists the ranked games with that tag as rows like the home page's. - [https://steamdata.dev/publisher/ubisoft](https://steamdata.dev/publisher/ubisoft): the tracked games a company published, most played first, with how many are playing them; [/developer/ubisoft](https://steamdata.dev/developer/ubisoft) for the games it developed. The name is lowercase words joined by hyphens, without "Inc." or "Co., Ltd." (/publisher/capcom, /developer/fromsoftware); other spellings redirect there. Game pages link to their developer's and publisher's. - [https://steamdata.dev/search?q=palworld](https://steamdata.dev/search?q=palworld): tracked games whose names match, most played first, 25 a page (`&page=1` for the next), each with its count, 24h change and a link to its page. Add tags as the API takes them to narrow it, e.g. [/search?trend=rising&busy_hours=europe](https://steamdata.dev/search?trend=rising&busy_hours=europe). ## JSON API - [Ranked list](https://api.steamdata.dev/api/apps): `GET /api/apps?page=0&per_page=50` returns `apps` in rank order (most players first) with `name`, `player_count`, `day_change`, `peak_player_count` and `rank`, plus `total` and `pages`. `page` starts at 0; `per_page` is at most 100. - [One game](https://api.steamdata.dev/api/apps/1623730): `GET /api/apps/` returns the game's latest count, peak and when it was set, 24h change, rank, Steam store details and recent updates with their effect on players. 404 if the game isn't tracked. - [History](https://api.steamdata.dev/api/apps/1623730/history?range=7d): `GET /api/apps//history?range=`, where range is `24h`, `7d` (default) or `30d`, whose `points` are hourly `{ t, player_count }`, or `90d`, `1y` (daily) or `all` (weekly, from Mondays), whose `points` are `{ t, min, avg, max }` for each UTC day or week. - [Tags](https://api.steamdata.dev/api/tags): `GET /api/tags` lists every tag with its states and filters. `GET /api/tags/?state=&limit=25` returns ranked games with that tag, strongest first, each with the tag's `value` object, e.g. [/api/tags/trend?state=falling](https://api.steamdata.dev/api/tags/trend?state=falling). Hourly: `trend` (`{ state: "rising" or "falling", value }`, the 24h change as a share), `rank` (`{ state: "climbing" or "dropping", value }`, places moved in 24h), `peak_share` (`{ state: "near", value }`, share of its peak, or `{ state: "far", value }`, share below it), `new_release` (`{ state: "recent", released }`: the most played games released in the last 30 days, `released` the release day in unix seconds; listed by rank). Daily: `update_bump` (`{ state: "up", value, gid, kind, title, posted_at, before, after, days_in }`: the games whose players rose most after a recent major or regular update, `value` the rise as a share, `before` and `after` the average players the week either side). Weekly: `busy_hours` (when it's played: `{ zones, peakHour }`, the evenings it's busiest in, `americas`, `europe` or `east_asia`, and the busiest UTC hour; or `{ zones: ["around_the_clock"], peakHour: null }`; filter with `?zone=europe`). `limit` is at most 100, and `page` (from 0) pages through. Each game's own tags are also in `GET /api/apps/`'s `tags`, and its ones with states (`trend`, `rank`, `peak_share`, `new_release`, `update_bump`) in `tags` on every list's rows (ranked list, search, trending). - [Search by name](https://api.steamdata.dev/api/search?q=palworld): `GET /api/search?q=&limit=10` returns matching tracked games, most played first, with their app ids. Use this to find an app id from a game's name. `limit` is at most 50, and `page` (from 0) pages through. Add tag filters to narrow it, as params named after the tag: `?trend=rising&busy_hours=europe` finds ranked games with both tags; repeat a param for either value (`?trend=rising&trend=falling`); with a tag, `q` is optional. - [Company](https://api.steamdata.dev/api/companies/publisher/ubisoft): `GET /api/companies//?limit=50` returns the games that company developed or published, ranked ones first, as `apps` rows like the ranked list's, with its `name`, `players` (the ranked ones' counts summed) and `other_role` (how many games it has the other role on). The slug is as on the site pages. `GET /api/apps/`'s `companies` lists a game's developers and publishers with their slugs and up to 5 of their other games. 404 for an unknown company. - [Trending](https://api.steamdata.dev/api/trending): `GET /api/trending?limit=10` returns the games whose count rose most in the last 24h, among games with at least 1,000 players a day ago. `limit` is at most 25. - [Movers](https://api.steamdata.dev/api/movers?limit=3): `GET /api/movers?limit=3` returns the top few games in every state of each hourly tag (`trend`, `rank`, `peak_share`) in one response, as `tags..`, rows as `/api/tags/`'s. `limit` is at most 10. ## Reading the figures - `player_count` is the number of people in the game on Steam at that hour: not owners, sales or console players. - `day_change` is a ratio, not a percent: -0.015 means 1.5% fewer players than about 24 hours earlier. - Times (`recorded_at`, `t` and the like) are Unix seconds, UTC. - Counts are recorded every hour. The ranked list and per-game figures are published once each hour is complete, so they can trail the latest history point by an hour or two. - Tracked games are SteamCharts' top 500 from September 2026, plus any game that has appeared in Steam's top 100 by players since then, added within the hour. Demos, dedicated servers and software aren't tracked. A game that isn't tracked returns 404. - `peak_player_count` is the highest hourly count recorded here since `tracking_since`, not necessarily the game's all-time record on Steam. ## Optional - [Sitemap](https://steamdata.dev/sitemap.xml): the home page, About, the tags index and every tag page, every tracked game's page, and the studio pages with at least 4 tracked games. - [Service health](https://api.steamdata.dev/api/health): whether the hourly recording is up to date.
